This Privacy Policy explains how Greenwood Forge LLC ("Greenwood Forge," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our websites, join our mailing list, or use our applications and exam-preparation products (together, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Contact details — when you join our waitlist or newsletter, we collect your email address (managed through our marketing email provider, Mailchimp).
• Account information — if you create an account, we collect information such as your name and email address. Accounts and sign-in are managed by our authentication provider, Clerk.
• Purchase information — when you buy a product, the transaction is processed by Stripe. Stripe collects and processes your payment details; we do not receive or store your full payment card number.
• Communications — messages you send us (for example, support or accessibility requests).

Information collected automatically

• Usage data — how you interact with the Services, including study activity, progress, and preferences within our applications. We use PostHog to understand product usage and improve the Services.
• Diagnostic data — when the app crashes or hits an error, we collect crash and performance diagnostics through Sentry to keep the Services reliable.
• Device & log data — IP address, browser/device type, and similar technical information.
• Cookies and similar technologies — used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the Services are used. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

2. How we use information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Services and your study experience.
• To process purchases through Stripe.
• To understand product usage and improve the Services (through PostHog analytics), and to detect, diagnose, and fix crashes and errors (through Sentry).
• To send you product updates and marketing emails through Mailchimp, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
• To respond to your requests and provide support.
• To monitor, secure, and protect the Services against fraud and abuse.
• To comply with legal obligations.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to run the Services:

• Service providers who process information on our behalf: Clerk (account authentication), Stripe (payment processing), PostHog (product analytics), Sentry (crash and performance diagnostics), Mailchimp (marketing email), and Cloudflare (hosting and infrastructure).
• Legal and safety — when required by law, regulation, or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Greenwood Forge, our users, or others.
• Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

4. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services and for legitimate business or legal purposes, then delete or de-identify it.

5. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your choices and rights

You can update your account information, unsubscribe from marketing email, and request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights:

• California (CCPA/CPRA): the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
• EEA/UK (GDPR): rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

To delete your account and the data associated with it, use our account deletion request page. You can also request deletion from within the app, or by emailing us.

7. Children's privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. International users

We are based in the United States, and your information may be processed in the United States and other countries that may have different data-protection laws than your own.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
